Romance for LULU & BEE GEE MAURICE GIBB.
It was one of pop's best kept secrets and then finally after denials from "Lu" came the final truth - that the couple have been going steady for a couple of months now.
Maurice, the middle brother of the three Gibbs in the group, and Lulu first met up at Top Of The Pops TV Studios. They chatted about records but didn't meet up again until one Sunday evening when they bumped into each other at the Saville Theatre.
"We got on so well that in the evening we went along to the Speakeasy Club
with some friends," Maurice told me happily.
"Lulu admired a ring I was wearing and I gave it to her to try on. She couldn't get it off again, so I had to get her phone number. Well, actually it was a plot on my part, because I thought she was so great."
Lu and Maurice see each other every night even though both are
incredibly busy right now.
Lulu's looking happier and more sparkling than ever and Maurice is suitably smug about the whole thing.
Marriage? Well it's a bit soon say both, quite sensibly. But meanwhile,
work's taking a backseat.
